Our Commitment to DEI
Communities In Schools of the South Plains® is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion for the employees, students, and the families we serve. We strive to offer a workforce that is representative of the varied communities and schools we are privileged to work within. We provide a work environment that does not discriminate based on race, color, national origin, gender, age, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, mental or physical disability, genetic information or any other basis protected by applicable law. Communities In Schools of the South Plains® prohibits harassment of applicants, employees, and volunteers based on any of these protected categories.
CIS® is passionate about changing the lives of our at-risk youth by surrounding them with a community of support empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. We believe that transformative relationships are key to unlocking a student’s potential. Our model’s focus of a one-on-one relationship between a caring adult and a child necessitates trust. This relational approach requires us to ensure a sense of safety and belonging for all. In our efforts to develop and foster those relationships for positive outcomes, we are committed to including endeavors that support diversity, equity, and inclusion for all students and are devoted to providing services that nurture healthful development and successful promotion throughout their school years and beyond graduation.
