At Communities In Schools of the South Plains®, we surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.
Together, we nurture an inclusive, empathetic culture that celebrates the differences brought by our students, families, alumni, board members, employees, partners, and the communities we serve. Our diversity fuels our innovation strengthening our commitment to build an equitable path to education for future generations.
We are a non-profit network of passionate professionals working directly with South Plains school districts to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.
A donation to CIS® is an investment in the future of our community. For less than $500 per child per year, we are able to keep 100% of the young people we serve in school and on track to graduation!
During the 2023-2024 school year, CIS-SP® served 8,627 students through before and after school programs (21st Century/ACE Cycle 10 and Cycle 11) and the CIS® Traditional Model. Of the 5,740 Case Management students monitored who received targeted interventions services: 96% Improved Academics, 98 % Improved in Behavior, 100% were Promoted to the Next Grade, 82 % improved in attendance, 100% of Eligible Students Graduated, 100% Stayed In School.
Our goal is simple: put students at the center and surround them with a caring community of support anchored by our dedicated staff.
In the words of Communities In Schools’® founder Bill Milliken:
“Programs don’t change kids – relationships do.”
We are in schools to help kids stay in school. Your contribution allows us to continue serving the youth of Lubbock and surrounding communities with the opportunity of a brighter future regardless of any obstacles they may face.
