Communities In Schools of the South Plains is seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven Accounting Associate to join our team and help us build a more equitable future for students in the South Plains.
The Role
As our Accounting Associate, you will be a key player in ensuring the financial health of CIS-SP. You’ll work directly with our Director of Finance to manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, monthly reconciliations, and purchase processing. A significant part of your role will involve providing crucial fiscal support for our grant-funded programs, ensuring compliance and accurate reporting to secure the resources we need to serve our students.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage daily accounting tasks, including processing invoices, vendor payments, and staff expense reports.
· Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations on a monthly basis.
· Assist in preparing financial reports for the leadership team and external stakeholders.
· Provide fiscal oversight for grants and contracts, ensuring strict compliance with all requirements.
· Maintain accurate financial records using our accounting software, QuickBooks.
Qualifications
· At least 1-3 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping role.
· Knowledge of basic accounting principles and strong familiarity with grant-based accounting and fiscal compliance.
· High proficiency with Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks.
· Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
· A passion for the mission of Communities In Schools and a desire to contribute to a collaborative, impactful team.
