Communities In Schools of the South Plains® is seeking to fill a Director of Finance position in the administration office. The Director of Finance is responsible for company accounting, managing the CIS-SP® business office, and overseeing all fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities for the organization. This includes but is not limited to overseeing all accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, monitoring and implementing financial goals/standards, federal policies and procedures, budget accounting, and payroll.
Applicants must be able to pass a criminal background check and possess a valid driver’s license. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration, proficiency in QuickBooks software, a high degree of computer proficiency, strong analytical skills, broad knowledge of accounting principles and grant funding, and keen attention to detail and time management skills. Preferred skills and qualifications: professional certification (ex: Certified Public Accountant), master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in accounting or finance, experience working for non-profit organizations receiving federal grant funding.
This individual will need to be able to work both independently and as part of a team, meet deadlines, study, understand grant funding and regulations, multi-task, maintain positive working relationships, be able to clearly communicate, be resourceful, and function as an effective administrative team member.
